Lavender Fields Wedding Inspiration at Elizabeth Anne Designs

Oh my, we are having such a wonderful time designing these gorgeous shoots for such prestigious wedding design and inspiration sites like Elizabeth Anne Designs. One of our favorite photographers, Live View Studios, shot the images at Mezza Luna Lavender Farm in North Carolina. Lavender has been said to promote calmness, happiness and attract love due to it’s lovely fragrance. When you combine these characteristics with its simple beauty, it made for the perfect inspiration for this bridal shoot. My goal was to bring those qualities into the shoot with our designs to imagine a beautiful bride making her way through a field of lavender to her beloved. It feels romantic, soft, peaceful, relaxing and pure. Heavenly. Go ahead. Take a look and fall in love with lavender.

Natural Beauty with Carla White
Carolyn

The memories from your wedding day will stay in your heart forever and the photographs from your wedding will help turn those memories into tangible recollections…ones you will cherish and share with friends, families and generations yet to be born. Brides often give very thoughtful consideration to their photographer, however, shy away from make-up and hair stylists, afraid they will look “made-up” or unnatural on their wedding day. It’s a common misconception but the truth of the matter is that hiring a hair and make-up stylist is a brilliant investment with amazing value, especially when you use stylists like Carla White, who transforms already beautiful brides into stunning, confident and camera-ready brides.

Carla’s philosophy may differ from other make-up and hair stylists. She isn’t interested in styling you the way SHE wants to style you. She is interested in using her experience and talents to style you the way YOU want to be styled. She learns what you like, what you don’t like and what makes you feel good about yourself. She is in what she calls a “constant consultation” while she is styling you. She is happy when you look in the mirror and feel confident, beautiful and good about yourself.

“I have learned it is not about me and my skill set, it is about the person in front of me and whether or not they are leaving me feeling better about themselves than before they sat down.”

Photographs can evoke such emotion from your wedding day. When you feel good about yourself, you exude that confidence. Adding confidence to the pure joy and happiness that marrying your beloved brings can truly produce some amazing images that you will treasure forever.

Consider giving this as a gift to your wedding party as well. There’s nothing quite like a group of confident, beautiful women standing behind and supporting a confident, beautiful and happy bride.

“My job is make you FEEL good about yourself.”

~Carla White

Make sure you hire a stylist who will add those personal touches to make you feel like the beautiful person you are as well as a stylist who has the experience to highlight all of your natural beauty for the camera. Deciding to hire a Stylist: In the Words of a Bride

We recently blogged about the value received from hiring a stylist for your hair and makeup. It’s an investment that will give you returns for years to come in the form of beautiful photographs. We asked one of our brides, Sarah, to answer a few questions on her experience hiring a stylist. Sarah hired one of our preferred vendors, Carla White, and was extremely happy with the results. Read on to see what the gorgeous Sarah had to say.

Michelle: Did you plan to hire a makeup and hair stylist for your wedding day?  If not, what made you decide to hire one?

Sarah: I planned to hire a makeup and hair stylist from the start – I can barely put my hair in a ponytail, let alone make it look good enough to walk down the aisle. It was a necessity!

Michelle: Explain the process of getting the hair and makeup done on your wedding day (was it fun, how did it impact the time to get ready, etc)?

Sarah: Getting everyone’s hair and makeup done was one of my favorite parts of the day. It was fun, lighthearted and we were lucky to do it early enough that there was no real pressure to rush through it. We just put on some music, drank some mimosas and tried to calm the nerves and soak up the excitement.

Michelle: Were you happy with the end result? How did it make you feel on the day of the wedding?

Sarah: My hair and makeup artist (Carla White) was one of the best vendor decisions I made! She was professional, personable and most importantly…she made me feel beautiful! She executed what we talked about flawlessly and addressed my concerns of my hair staying put all day. I loved the way my makeup looked – and she listened to what was important to me, which was that it had a natural feel.

Michelle: What would you tell other brides who are on the fence about getting hair and makeup done for themselves and their wedding party?

Sarah: I would say that I definitely understand the stress of an added expense – but this is the most photographed day of your life! For me, it added to how special the day felt and took one less stress off my plate having Carla there to ensure that everyone was looking her best.
